Cardi B, Alicia Keys, Queen Latifah, & More Join Forces To Demand Justice for #BreonnaTaylor

Published: Wednesday 10th Jun 2020 by Rashad

Alicia Keys, Cardi B, Taraji P. Henson, Janelle Monáe, and Queen Latifah are among the the celebrities using their platforms to shed light on the killing of Louisville, Kentucky healthcare worker Breonna Taylor.

Taylor was killed in March by Louisville Metro Police Department officers who used a no-knock warrant to enter her apartment unannounced, then fired approximately 20 shots (eight of which hit her and ultimately ended her life) to later discover they’d entered the wrong home (click here to read more).

Now, as protests continue in the wake of the death of George Floyd, a number of female celebrities are using their voices to ensure justice is also served for Breonna as – at writing – her killers have not been arrested.

Launched by the group Until Freedom, the campaign is centered around the question each celebrity asks at the beginning of the video: “Do you know what happened to Breonna Taylor?”

After that, Taylor’s mother – Tamika Palmer – recounts the story of how the Louisville Metro Police Department killed her daughter.  In addition to gathering support from the likes of Keys, Cardi, and Queen Latifah, megastars Kerry Washington, Jada Pinkett Smith, Ellen DeGeneres, Taraji P. Henson, Janelle Monáe, and Zoe Kravitz are among the big names who have signed on to fight for justice.

Elswhere, a GoFundMe in Breonna’s honor (found here) has raised nearly $6 million dollars while a petition for her killers to face justice has surpassed 6 million signatures.  Click here to see it.

How many times this has happened in the US ? Entering the wrong home ? Geez…

May she RIP, big thoughts to her friends and family but also all the people who were victims of such injustice.

Good, because everybody else is busy holding up George as a martyr. Breonna did not get a breaking news golden casket celebrity funeral or receive any praise from the likes of Ne-Yo who credits George with changing the world.
